Sesame seeds are consumed in India for thousands of years. This ellurundai is one of the old and traditional recipe that passed down to many generations. Moreover, sesame seeds are rich in calcium, protein, iron, manganese etc. For this recipe, we choose to use black sesame seeds. My mom always use the black sesame seeds for making these laddus. Moreover black sesame seeds are more flavorful and strong compared to white one. But if you like you can use either one to make these laddus.
