Masala corn or masala sweet corn is a very popular street snack. I first tasted this item at T.Nagar Ranganathan Street in Chennai. We will always have this whenever we go there for shopping. Then I bought sweet corn from the market and tried to replicate at home in my own way, it tasted better than the shop. It's a quick snack and can be prepared very easily with very few ingredients. Sometimes all we need is a simple and light snack like this. Now, let's get into the recipe..

Masala Sweet Corn

INGREDIENTS

Sweet Corn Kernals - 1 cup
Butter - 2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Chaat Masala - 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves - 2 tsp (finely chopped)
Salt - to taste
INSTRUCTIONS

1Boil 1 1/2 cup water in a pan. Add corn kernals to it. Let it cook. It gets cooked in 10 to 15 min. Taste it to check if it is cooked or not. After it's cooked, drain all the excess water through a metal strainer.

2Immediately transfer it to a bowl. When it is still hot, add butter, chilli powder, chaat masala and salt. Mix well. Then add finely chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice. Mix well and serve hot.

NOTES

You have to mix everything when the corn is still hot.

You can adjust chilli powder and chat masala according to your taste.

I used fresh corn so removed corn kernels by myself. You can also buy sweet corn kernels that are ready to use.

If you don't have chaat masala at home, add little garam masala powder or little pepper powder and cumin powder. That will also taste good.
