Kollu Podi - Podi or powder made with kollu/horse gram, bengal gram, skinned black gram as main ingredients. It can be eaten with rice mixed with ghee or sesame oil.

Kollu has a lot of health benefits. It helps to lose weight and also good for diabetics. I only tried kollu rasam and it was very tasty. So I thought of trying kollu podi for a long time for my hubby. He likes these kinds of podi for rice. So I made this, I also tasted it and it was good. It is very good with rice and ghee. You can also have it with sesame oil. Just put a spoon of this podi over hot rice and drizzle ghee or sesame oil, mix it and obviously eat it :). But consume kollu in moderate quantity as it has a heat producing property.

Before you start, check and remove stones or any impurities in the kollu if it has any. Then wash the kollu well. Drain all the water, spread it in a tissue paper over the plate and dry it completely. You can also dry it under sun. This step helps to remove any dust particles in kollu. Now, let's make kollu podi.
