Godhumai Dosai is the one that comes to mind for many people when they want to make something instant. Yeah, for me too.. If you are in a hurry or feeling not to make an elaborate breakfast, this is a good recipe. If I want to have breakfast even quicker, I will just have it with Idli Podi mixed with sesame oil. Today I am serving it with coconut chutney and tomato chutney. It tastes best when it is hot. Let's see how to make it..

Wheat/Godhumai Dosai

Cuisine: South Indian | Category: Breakfast | Yields: 10 to 12 dosai

Prep Time: 5 min | Cook Time: 20-30 min

INGREDIENTS
  PRINT RECIPE  
Wheat Flour - 3/4 cup
Rice Flour - 1/4 cup
Cumin Seeds - 1 1/2 tsp
Curd/Yogurt - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste
Water - 2 cup (approx)
INSTRUCTIONS

1Take a bowl and add wheat flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, required salt. Mix it well with a hand whisk by adding little bit water at a time. I added approximately little less than 2 cups.

2Heat a dosai griddle, season it with little oil. Pour little bit of batter to the griddle and spread it evenly with a ladle or kuzhi karandi. Drizzle lit bit oil on the dosai. Let it cook for 1 - 2 min. Then flip it. Cook the other side also about 1-2 minutes. Transfer the dosai to another plate. In the same way, make all the dosai.

NOTES

You can also add curry leaves, green chillies and onion to the batter.

If you want a crispy dosai, add little more water to the batter. Cook it till its crispy golden brown.
